Terms of Service

Plain language: Booktist is a self-serve bookkeeping tool. It helps you organize your clinic's overhead and produce CPA-ready exports. It is not accounting or tax advice — always review your numbers with a qualified CPA before filing. Your data lives in your own Google Drive, and you can leave any time.

1. Acceptance

By using Booktist (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does

Booktist lets you import bank-export transactions, review and categorize them against Canadian dental-practice categories mapped to CRA T2125 lines, view overhead benchmarks and a tax estimate, and export your data as CSV, Excel, or a Google Sheet. The app runs in your browser; when you sign in with Google, your data is stored in your own Google Drive.

3. Not professional advice

Booktist does not provide accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice. Benchmarks, categorizations, and tax estimates are informational aids only and may be incomplete or inaccurate for your situation. You are responsible for the accuracy of your records and your tax filings, and should review them with a qualified CPA before relying on them. Booktist is not a substitute for a professional accountant.

4. Your account & your data

You sign in with your own Google account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure.
Your bookkeeping data is stored in your Google Drive under your control. You may export or delete it at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for retaining your own tax records for any period required by the CRA.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, legitimate bookkeeping purposes and not to upload data you have no right to use.

5. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, and the Service depends on third parties (including Google) whose availability we do not control.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of any computed figure, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Booktist and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any tax penalties, interest, filing errors, or lost data, arising from your use of the Service. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the date above, and continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
